Ban On Handheld Cell Phones While Driving Now In Effect

ban-on-cell-phone

Handheld cell phone use while driving is now illegal in Pennsylvania.  The ban, known as Paul Miller’s Law, officially goes into effect today.  It’s named after an East Stroudsburg University student who was killed in a 2010 crash with a tractor-trailer while the driver was reaching for their phone.  Anyone caught violating the ban in the first year will be issued a written warning, but will receive a citation starting in June 2026.
