The body of an unidentified 63-year-old woman was found last night, shortly before 11:00, during a water rescue effort in the Juniata River in Tyrone at Plummers Hollow Road and Birmingham Pike. The rescue effort got underway after a man reported seeing the woman fall into the water. Reportedly, Blair County’s Coroner, Ray Benton said the woman’s body was recovered, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday. The identity of the woman is pending family notification. An investigation is underway.
