“No Kings Day” protests are planned for tomorrow in cities across America, including a few closer to home. Organizers say tomorrow’s events are designed to show opposition to what they call the authoritarian leadership of Donald Trump, and to serve as counterprogramming for a military parade slated for tomorrow in D.C. Tomorrow’s date, which is June 14th, was also planned because it’s both Flag Day and President Trumps’ 79th birthday. One protest tomorrow is to take place in Hollidaysburg at the Canal Basin beginning at noon. There’s another planned for Altoona and starts at the Jaffa Shrine parking lot beginning at 1. Another protest will occur in Johnstown beginning at 12:30, at 507 Main Street, and finally a “No Kings” Protest will take place in State College on East College Avenue starting at 1. Governor Shapiro issued a statement ahead of the demonstrations saying his administration will remain focused on keeping communities safe, ensuring all demonstrations remain peaceful.
