Tens of thousands of Pennsylvania children are being exposed to dangerous levels of diesel pollution. That’s according to a study by the Clean Trucks Pennsylvania Coalition, which states hundreds of schools, childcare centers, and public parks are within 500 meters of interstate highways with heavy truck traffic. Those sites serve almost 70-thousand children. The coalition recommends those locations monitor the air quality as well as establish no-idling zones and landscape buffers.
