The Altoona School Board has reportedly voted against raising real estate property taxes. During a meeting of the board last night, they voted 7-2 against approving a preliminary budget that had contained a 3% tax increase. Although the district is facing a $2.4 million dollar deficit, it will be paid out of the district’s unreserved balance of about $34 million.
