More information has come to light regarding the Pitbull mix named Cherry, who was thrown over the fence at the Central Pa. Human Society in Altoona this past March. Logan Township Police identified Cherry’s owner as 39-year-old Erin House of Williamsburg. House has officially been charged with animal cruelty, and corruption of a minor after she allegedly confessed to making her young child throw the dog over the fence. Police report that House said she could no longer care for Cherry, and that her landlord was making her get rid of her pets. Officials with the Humane Society reported that when Cherry was thrown over the fence, she suffered a dislocated hip and had to undergo surgery. The shelter later also rescued Cherry’s puppy. Cherry has since been adopted. House is to face a preliminary hearing on July 24th.
