In a 30-4 vote, the Penn State Board of Trustees voted to remove outspoken board member Barry Fenchak, after the board reportedly investigated a claim that Fenchak had a “verbal interaction” with a female staff member at the Altoona Campus that reportedly made her uncomfortable. The interaction reportedly happened days after Fenchak filed a lawsuit against the board after he said his requests for information about the management of the university’s $4.6 billion endowment, and its rising administrative fees, were repeatedly denied. The two-thirds vote in favor of removing him means he is prohibited from serving as a trustee in the future.
