The Hollidaysburg School Board has voted 5-2 to adopt the 2025-26 final budget that includes a 4.9% tax hike. The tax increase was approved as the school district is facing a nearly 4-million dollar deficit. The increase comes out to a little more than $73.00 more per household based on assessed property value of $150,000. Also during the meeting, the board approved the resignation of long-time Senior High Principal Maureen Letcher, who was recently named as the new superintendent for the Glendale School District. She will be taking over for outgoing administrator Sean Gildea.
