After getting hit by heavy rains in recent weeks, the pendulum swings as the area is to get hit with a heat wave. The heat is expected to affect many in the state with temperatures possibly setting records into the 90’s starting tomorrow. This heat wave is predicted to be the first of the season, and is expected to be particularly intense in the south-central part of the state. The National Weather Service reports the heat is also expected to be accompanied by high humidity with the heat index possibly pushing beyond the 100 degree mark to as high as 104. Nearly 200-million Americans are expected to be hit with this heat dome from the Southwest to the Northeast. Individuals such as young children, older adults, and those with chronic medical conditions are advised to take precautions during a heat wave, and to stay hydrated.
