UPMC has confirmed it will soon be ending gender-affirming care for patients under the age of 18. This is in response to the Trump Administration’s policies aimed at transgender youth. According to the Tribune in Pittsburgh, a spokesperson for UPMC said federal guidance has made it clear that doctors who provide such care as puberty blockers and hormone therapy, could face criminal prosecution. Reportedly the care is to end on June 30th.
