An Elk County man is facing charges in connection to an incident on Tuesday in which a six mile stretch of Route 255 in Weedville was closed for a good part of the day. Arrested was 40-year-old Jackson Howard who reportedly called 911 himself and claimed a postal worker was on his property causing him distress. When a state police officer from Ridgeway arrived to his home, Howard allegedly began threatening to shoot the patrolmen, claiming the officer was not the “real police.” During the standoff Howard threw items out of a second floor window, and shouted expletives to authorities. The stand-off ended nearly nine hours later. Howard is facing charges that include assault and making terroristic threats. Reportedly, he is currently in a hospital receiving mental health treatment.
