Governor Josh Shapiro says President Trump’s so-called “Big Beautiful Bill” will do a “staggering” amount of damage to Pennsylvania. In a post on social media, the Democratic governor said the GOP spending bill will take away health care and food assistance from hundreds-of-thousands in the commonwealth, and threaten 26-thousand jobs. The measure to advance the bill passed by a slim margin in the Senate Saturday night, 51-49, with two Republicans joining Democrats in voting against it. Shapiro said Republicans are trying to rush the bill through the chamber despite it being “harmful and unpopular.”
