An unidentified woman has filed suit in District Court in Johnstown, against the Cambria Heights School District, and a teacher who reportedly sexually assaulted her. The civil lawsuit, was filed last week by a woman known only as Jane Doe. The suit says 30-year-old Issac Vescovi, who was a math teacher at the Cambria Heights High School in Patton, groomed, and eventually raped her last year in a hotel room in Indiana County. In her suit she claims the teacher would grope, kiss, and inappropriately touch her inside his classroom, starting when she was 16. In the suit, the woman claims students, one teacher, and the principal were allegedly aware of the illicit relationship. Last year, Vescovi was criminally charged with having sex with a 17-year-old student. He was sentenced in May to serve 8 months to two years in jail. He must register as a sex offender for 25 years. The woman is asking for punitive damages saying she now suffers from a number of medical and health issues as a result of the sexual assault. According to the Altoona Mirror, the school district has noted it does not comment on pending litigation.
