Altoona Police arrested an intoxicated man over the weekend after he allegedly assaulted and harassed numerous customers at the Chestnut Avenue Sheetz. Arrested early Saturday morning was 40-year-old Terrell Sanders, who has no fixed address. Witnesses reportedly told authorities that Sanders became upset after learning that the store’s beer cooler was closed for the night. He reportedly became so upset he began to scream obscenities in the store, and then approached a man he did not know, and punched him. He then allegedly approached a female customer and struck her in the face. Sheetz employees stopped all store business and hid in a locked office until police arrived and took Sanders into custody. He has been jailed on numerous counts including felony aggravated assault, making terroristic threats, witness intimidation, and other related charges. He has been placed in the Blair County Prison where bail has been set at $200,000. His preliminary hearing is set for July 9th.
