ESPN is going to be honoring Penn State’s women’s volleyball coach, Katie Schumacher-Cawley after leading her team to a National Championship while she battled Stage 2 breast cancer. Cawley will receive the Jimmy V award for perseverance. She will be presented the award on July 18th during ESPN’s annual “ESPY” award ceremony. The award is named in honor of Jimmy Valvano, former coach of North Carolina State who lost his battle with cancer.
