Some students and faculty at Carnegie Mellon University are outraged over a planned visit to the campus by President Donald Trump next week. Senator Dave McCormick has invited the president to speak at his Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit on July 15th. CMU Associate Chemistry Professor Carrie McDonough has led the charge in crafting an open letter to university leaders, claiming Trump is a harmful person and the event should be moved off the campus. McDonough tells WPXI-TV she was told by CMU administrators that the university has no involvement in the summit and they are simply serving as a venue.
