An 18-year-old Altoona man is facing numerous counts including illegal firearms charges after he reportedly shot himself in the leg with a stolen gun. Police were called to an apartment along 6th Avenue on June 30th after a gun was accidentally discharged inside the residence. That’s where police found Landon Dibert with a wound to his left knee. Reportedly, the gun accidentally went off when Dibert was using the guns laser to play with a cat, when it went off. Police say Dibert claimed to have found the gun at Jefferson Park in the city. Dibert reportedly is prohibited from possessing firearms, and is now facing charges that include reckless endangerment, and receiving stolen property. He is free on unsecured bail.
