Gebhard, a Republican from Lancaster County, noted that federal immigration enforcement officers are facing increasing threats and violence while carrying out their lawful duties. Gebhard’s legislation would provide state-level consequences that reflect the severity of the crime of assaulting, obstructing or threatening an ICE officer.
