A former Gregg Township, Centre County secretary has pled guilty to three felonies in an embezzlement case. Reportedly, 55-year-old Pamela Hackenburg, the former township secretary, entered an open plea yesterday in Centre County Court. Last year, Hackenburg was charged with embezzling nearly a half-a-million dollars in township funds. After an investigation, it was learned that a large amount of those funds had been used for online sports betting. Yesterday, Hackenburg entered pleas to charges that included theft by unlawful taking, and other related counts. She is scheduled to be sentenced at a later date.
