To commemorate the one-year anniversary of the attempted assassination of President Trump at a campaign rally in Butler, the community gathered this past weekend to pay tribute to the man who was killed in the attempt. Former Buffalo Township Fire Chief Corey Comperatore was shot to death at the rally last year. On Saturday, a life-size bronze statue of Comperatore was unveiled at the Butler Farm Show grounds with Comperatore’s widow present. The statue shows Comperatore dressed in a fishing shirt and boots, which he was known for wearing. A crowd estimated at more than one thousand then took part in the event called Corey’s Cruise, which started with a motorcycle ride from Comperatore’s high school, Freeport High School, and ended at No Offseason Sports in Russellton.
