A new law was signed into law by Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro that provides the Lottery the authority to offer new and more competitive games, helping the Lottery to fulfill its mission of generating funding programs that benefit older Pennsylvanians. According to a press release, the new law is part of the governor’s pledge to deliver for older state residents. Under the new law, the Lottery’s profit margin will be permanently reduced to 10 percent, down from 20. This change will give the Lottery the flexibility to better respond to player demand for games with larger payouts and more chances to win.
