Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern are reportedly in “advanced” merger talks to create a coast-to-coast railroad network. Both companies have stated that they do not intend to make additional comments, or provide an update on this matter unless, or until they determine that disclosure is required. If the merger does go through, the deal would create a $200 billion dollar railroad. Reportedly, there is no timeline on the deal.
