Cambria County Commissioners are offering support as they plan on submitting a letter to urge Express Scripts, a pharmacy benefit manger, to reconsider their decision to terminate a contract with Martella’s Pharmacy of Johnstown, along with a few other pharmacies local to both Johnstown and the Laurel Highlands. Express Scripts said these pharmacies would have their contracts terminated as of August 18th, forcing people to find somewhere else to get their prescriptions. Reportedly, the Cambria County Commissioners are urging Express Scripts, and its parent company Cigna, to reconsider their decision, believing that profit should never come at the expense of a community’s health.
