A 20-year-old Hollidaysburg man is facing attempted homicide charges after he allegedly stabbed another man during a fight that occurred Monday night in Altoona. Altoona Police report that Christopher Smith is accused of stabbing the victim in the chest, and leaving the man with life-threatening injuries. The stabbing reportedly occurred on the 1000 block of 4th Avenue. Smith was apprehended a short time later at Sheetz on 7th Avenue. Police say the victim was taken to UPMC Altoona where he remains in stable condition. Smith has been charged with attempted homicide, felony aggravated assault, and possession of an instrument of crime. He has been placed in the Blair County Prison where bail has been set at $500,000.
