Two Clearfield County women are facing animal cruelty charges after allegedly dumping a dog that was later struck by a vehicle. Charged were 28-year-old Sheanna Gagliardi, and 21-year-old Casey Tennison. Authorities report that Gagliardi allegedly ordered Tennison to dump the dog along a road in Pine Township, Clearfield County, earlier this year. In May, state police were called after a dog was hit by a vehicle and suffered what has been described as “disabling” injuries to one of its legs. The dog was taken to a vet thanks to members of the Animals Matter group that helped rescue the dog. State police say the staff at the vet’s office helped identify the dog’s owner as Gagliardi. Both Gagliardi and Tennison are each facing charges of felony conspiracy to commit aggravated animal cruelty, and misdemeanor cruelty to animals. They are to face preliminary hearings September 5th.
