Today is National Night Out, which is a campaign to promote police-community partnerships. It’s a time where communities across the country host events to create positive relationships between residents and law enforcement. On that note, the Altoona Police Department will be hosting a “National Night Out” event tonight from 6-9, at the Heritage Plaza on 11th Avenue in Downtown Altoona. There will be a dunk tank, food vendors, live music, and the event is free. Also, the Blair County Sheriff’s Office will celebrate “National Night Out” tonight from 6-9, at the Antique Depot in Duncansville. Car show registration starts at 5:15 this evening, and there’s a parade from NAPA to the Depot, at 6:00 p.m. There will also be fireworks at 9. The event is free.
