If you were planning on traveling to Pittsburgh this weekend, pack your patience and be aware that drivers are being advised that portions of Parkway East in Pittsburgh and Edgewood Borough will be completely closed this weekend. PennDOT says that on Saturday night at 9 p.m., both directions of Parkway East will be fully closed between the Squirrel Hill Tunnel and the Edgewood and Swissvale interchange. During the close, crews will demolish and replace on overhead sign. Parkway East is then expected to fully reopen around 5 a.m. Monday morning.
