A Bedford County couple has been jailed after being arraigned yesterday on animal cruelty charges.  In April, state police were alerted to possible cruelty to animals at an abandoned farmhouse in West Providence Township where 12 dogs, nine cats, a rooster, and a duck were found living in deplorable conditions.  Reportedly, remains of some dogs were found that appeared to have been eaten by other dogs.  William and Alissa Lewis both 44-years-old,  were charged yesterday with counts that include felony aggravated cruelty, misdemeanor neglect, and other related charges.  Both have been placed in the Bedford County Prison with bail having been set at $100,000 each.  Their preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 20th.
