Students within the Central Cambria School District will get two extra days of summer vacation after the school board voted to revise the academic calendar in response to mold cleanup. Last month, mold was found on desks and chairs at the elementary school. The new start date has been scheduled for August 25th to give the district more time to clean the mold. During last night’s school board meeting the board also approved the purchase of 25 industrial humidifiers at a cost of over 20-thousand dollars. The dehumidifiers are reportedly to be placed throughout the district’s buildings.
