A Centre County elementary school is to close immediately. The Miles Township Elementary School will be closing, following a vote by the Penns Valley Area School Board of Directors. The board began discussing potential closure of the school several months ago, because of enrollment decline. Students and staff are expected to be transferred to other schools within the district.
