Pennsylvania’s budget impasse continues. On Tuesday, Senate Republicans passed a temporary spending plan to maintain current state funding for schools, local governments, and nursing homes, as lawmakers negotiate a final deal. This also included a two-year transit funding bill. This was done after Democrats repeatedly said they would not support a stopgap budget, and yesterday House Democrats on the Appropriations Committee rejected them. Budget negotiators will reportedly continue to meet to an effort to reach a final product. The budget was due July 1st.
