A Portage man who died in a house fire on Sunday afternoon has been identified. According to the Cambria County Coroner’s office, 78-year-old Edward Ruffing was killed after he became trapped in his home located along Terrace Circle. Ruffing was reportedly found in his kitchen in a motorized wheelchair. Ruffing reportedly died as a result of smoke inhalation, and his death has been ruled accidental. Cause of the fire is still under investigation.
