Looks as if we can expect a bit of a delay regarding the Mill Run Bridge Project. It was to be completed in October, but yesterday PennDOT Secretary Mike Carroll was at the construction site in Altoona and said the completed date will now be sometime in early November. In June, work began on replacing the 100-year-old bridge, which carries Route 36 over Mill Run near the Intersection of 31st Street. Part of the project also includes guide rail and drainage upgrades. It also includes resurfacing of four miles of the route from Frankstown Road to Mill Run Road. Drivers should be aware of ongoing detours and closures in the area during the construction period.
