Happy Valley will host the Ironman 70.3 North American Championship on June 14, 2026, an upgrade that tourism officials expect to bring a major economic boost to the region. The event, formally known as the Ironman 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley, has been held for several years and draws thousands of participants. Happy Valley Sports and Entertainment Alliance director Eric Engelbarts noted the significant benefits of hosting the national championship. “More people coming into town, staying in hotels, eating in restaurants, shopping in businesses, staying longer is great,” he said. Registration for the event begins today, and general registration on Tuesday September 2nd by visiting www.ironman.com/races/im703-pennsylvania. Anyone over the age of 16 is eligible to register. The 2026 IRONMAN 70.3 Pennsylvania Happy Valley North American Championship race will treat athletes to a 1.2-mile swim in Foster Joseph Sayers Reservoir at Bald Eagle State Park, a scenic 56-mile bike ride through the beautiful rolling hills of Centre and Clinton Counties, culminating with a 13.1-mile run on the campus of Penn State University including a unique finish line experience for athletes alongside Beaver Stadium.
