A formal lawsuit has been filed against a Johnstown funeral home following allegations that nearly $32,000 in services was never completed. Having filed the suit was the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General against Brittany Thomas of the Moskal-Reid Funeral home. Thomas is accused of collecting thousands of dollars in funeral related services that were never provided. Investigators report that Thomas allegedly collected payments from 2021 to 2023, from 14 families, but never fulfilled those services. As a result of the investigation the state’s Board of Funeral Director has revoked the licenses of both Thomas and the funeral home. The Office of Attorney General’s lawsuit asks that the Court provide relief to the impacted consumers by requiring Thomas to pay full restitution to those who pre-paid for services.
