Blair County Commissioners have issued a resolution calling upon the Governor and the Legislature of Pennsylvania to prioritize their responsibilities and work together to finalize a budget without further delay. This appeal comes in response to repeated budgetary delays that have significantly disrupted county operations, such as mental health programs, children, youth and families; and other social programs for Blair County citizens. The county’s resolution highlighted the fact that the Commonwealth has missed at least a dozen budget deadlines in the past 25 years causing significant disruptions. The county’s resolution is also asking area residents to contact state officials to encourage them to work together to pass a budget.
