A state lawmaker from Allegheny County is looking to formally ban any partnership between the Pennsylvania State Police and federal immigration agents. State Representative Abigail Salisbury is introducing a measure that would prohibit PSP from entering into a 287 agreement with ICE. Salisbury says that type of arrangement would drain state police resources and promote distrust of state troopers in Pennsylvania communities. Current PSP policy does not support a partnership with ICE, but, if passed, this law would prevent that from changing in the future.
