A Tyrone woman is facing multiple charges after being accused of giving methamphetamine to a 5-year-old child. Twenty-two-year-old Chelsey Judd was taken into custody yesterday after a search warrant was executed at her residence. The investigation began after a child abuse referral was submitted by Blair County Children, Youth, and Families. A criminal complaint alleges that between March and April of this year, the 5-year-old was given meth by Judd, who had custody of the child during that time. Following an interview with police and child protective services in June, Judd admitted to using meth and marijuana while the children were in her care. She also admitted that the child may have witnessed her using meth, and that she may have threatened the child while under the influence. Judd faces charges including endangering the welfare of children, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, corruption of minors and other related counts. On the day of her arrest, Judd was found hiding under a pile of clothes in a neighboring apartment. She was taken to the Blair County Prison, with bail set at $200,000. Her preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 17th.
