A Somerset County man and a woman are in custody after a young child suffered a severe hand injury from a homemade fan in late June. Ernest Frye, the child’s father, was allegedly using a furnace blower as a makeshift fan at his home in Confluence when the child’s hand got caught in the blades, according to police. Stacey Fazenbaker was also present at the time of the incident. The child was taken to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in West Virginia, where they required plastic surgery for the injury. Both Frye and Fazenbaker face felony child endangerment, and misdemeanor reckless endangerment charges. They are currently being held at the Somerset County Jail.
