An Altoona man has been sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to 63 counts of child sex abuse. The plea deal involving 53-year-old Benjamin Dent resulted in the dismissal of 647 additional charges. The original 710 counts, filed in July 2023, stemmed from an investigation that began after a report of Dent exposing himself to a minor at his home. Dent pled guilty to a range of felony and misdemeanor charges related to the sexual assault of children and child pornography. The crimes were documented in numerous photos and videos found on Dent’s cell phone.
