Altoona Man Jailed For Damaging Statue Of Mother Mary At Local Church

A homeless Altoona man has been jailed for vandalizing a Mother Mary statue and an American flag at the Holy Rosary Church on North 4^th Street in Altoona last month.  Arrested was 48-year-old Jeromy Broadbent who reportedly was identified as the suspect via surveillance footage.  Broadbent faces charges that include felony institutional vandalism, maliciously taking down a flag, and intentional desecration of an object.  He has been placed in the Blair County Prison in lieu of $100,000 bail.
