The former secretary of Gregg Township, in Centre County, received a sentence of two to four years in state prison, followed by two years of probation, for the theft of over $532,000 in public funds.  A Centre County Judge ordered 56-year-old Pamela Hackenburg to  pay over $615-thousand dollars in restitution to the township, after she pled guilty to felony charges including theft and identity theft.  During yesterday’s court proceedings, victims delivered emotional testimony for approximately one hour, focusing on the extensive deception and manipulation that Hackenburg committed as Gregg Township’s top administrator.  The community, including residents and local officials, have reportedly faced significant emotional distress, stress, and financial hardship as a result of Hackenburg’s theft of public funds.
