NYS Judge Dismisses Top Count Against Luigi Mangione

A New York State judge dismissed state terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione.  The 27-year-old accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson learned at his court hearing yesterday that he’s no longer facing the top murder count, but the second-degree murder charges remain.  The judge tossed the charges of first degree murder as an act of terrorism, ruling the charges were “legally insufficient.” The judge set hearings for Mangione’s case to start on December 1st, but a trial date has yet to be determined.  Mangione has pled not guilty to multiple counts of murder in the December 24th killing of Thompson.  He was arrested five days later in Altoona after he was spotted eating breakfast at the Plank Road McDonalds.
