For Q94’s latest “Local Song of the Week,” we check out a brand new song from Johnstown area singer and songwriter Dan Stonerook! Written by Jerry Reed and Dick Feller, Dan’s version of “East Bound and Down” leads off his third and latest EP, called “Almost Famous!” Dan recorded the EP in Nashville in December 2024, and worked with members of East Bound and Down, “the Ultimate Smokey and the Bandit Tribute.” Among the musicians Dan worked with was British fingerpicking guitar specialist Richard Smith, who recently performed at The Grotto at ArtsAltoona during Labor Day Weekend, with Dan opening. Dan is currently recuperating from a leg injury, but watch for his full return to live performance action on area stages in the months ahead!
