The York County Sheriff’s Office is identifying the sheriff’s deputy who was injured in last week’s shooting. The department said Lieutenant David Godfey exchanged fire with the gunman during a suspected ambush that claimed the lives of three Northern York County Regional Police officers. Lieutenant Godfrey suffered critical injuries in the shooting but is now in satisfactory condition. The Sheriff’s Office said it is “deeply moved” by the outpouring of support from the community, and stands in solidarity with NYCRPD.
