Effective today, Huntingdon County has issued a countywide burn ban due to prevailing dry conditions and an elevated risk of uncontrolled fires. This prohibition on most outdoor burning, including in burn barrels and open ground, will last for 30 days. The ban does not apply to the use of propane and gas stoves, charcoal grills, or tobacco. Campfires in designated campgrounds are permitted, provided they are contained within a fire ring cleared of flammable material for a five-foot radius.
