A former Gregg Township, Centre County secretary, previously sentenced for stealing over $500,000 in public funds, now faces new theft charges in Union County. Fifty-six-year-old Pamela Hackenburg is accused of stealing more than $50,000 from an American Legion post in Mifflinburg while serving as a volunteer treasurer, allegedly to fund a gambling addiction. Charged on Monday, she was sentenced just a week prior to at least two years in prison. Her prior sentencing was for misusing funds from Gregg Township, where she served as secretary from 2019 to 2024, for online sports betting, vacations, and other personal expenses. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for October 21st.
