Partial Shutdown Has Begun

A partial government shutdown is underway after the Senate adjourned without approving a funding proposal.  Lawmakers voted down two resolutions Tuesday.  The Democrats’ proposal would have funded the government through October 31st while the GOP’s would have funded it through November 21st.  The shutdown will see tens of thousands of federal workers furloughed.
