Homegrown Rocker October 2025 Schedule

Here’s a listing of what will be happening on the “Homegrown Rocker” during October. Catch the program every Sunday night from 8 to 10 p.m. on Q94 Classic Rock (www.q94classicrock.com), from 10 p.m. to midnight on 107.1 and 101.3 Jack FM (www.1071jack.fm), and via podcast after the show airs on Q94’s website (in “The Professor’s Classroom”).

OCTOBER 5 – Alex Shumaker: Punxsutawney musician Alex Shumaker started playing the drums at age 5. His fast-developing skills earned him guest appearances with such names as Wynonna Judd and Jackyl, as well as sit-in appearances with various area bands. Now at age 19, Alex plays drums, guitar and piano, and will soon release his first full-length studio album – hear Alex discuss his career, musical direction, creative process, live shows and more; plus we’ll play songs from the forthcoming album, and he’ll bring an acoustic guitar along and play a few live for us!

OCTOBER 12 – Gonto: Pittsburgh-based musician Dom “Gonto” Copelli decided to pursue rock music as a teenager after seeing Ronnie James Dio perform. Influenced by the titans of heavy rock and metal, Gonto developed a sound that honors the genre’s roots while pushing its boundaries. Gonto will tell us about his career, and we’ll hear songs from his latest album, called “Oceans Of Time!”

OCTOBER 19 – Visiting the Mailboxes: With the steady stream of musical guests we have had on the program lately, we need to catch up on new recordings from the area music scene! So this edition of the program will do just that, as we hear music that was submitted to the program throughout the course of this past summer!

OCTOBER 26 – Halloween Special 2025: Trick or treat! It’s again time for the annual “Homegrown Rocker” Halloween Special, where every song or artist we air will have some connection to Halloween! Hear songs about ghosts, zombies, haunted houses, werewolves, spiders, vampires and other things that go ‘bump’ in the night!
