In a betrayal of client trust, former Hollidaysburg attorney Michael Cohen pled guilty yesterday to stealing thousands of dollars from a couple he was hired to help. The theft caused them to lose their Bedford County home. The clients had entrusted Cohen with a $60,000 check to prevent a foreclosure, but the funds were misappropriated, and $10,000 of the money was never recovered. The home was eventually sold in a sheriff’s sale. Cohen is scheduled to be sentenced later this month. He also faces another theft case in Blair County Court, next month.
